Overview

Urban Threads is an independent streetwear label rooted in contemporary youth culture and raw city aesthetics. They commissioned a visual editorial for their new seasonal drop — a collection blending oversized tailoring, textured fabrics, and statement graphics — with the goal of showcasing the pieces through a story-driven, elevated lens.

The Challenge

Urban Threads wanted to push beyond standard eCommerce or lookbook shots. The brief called for an editorial shoot that captured attitude, movement, and authenticity — grounded in urban spaces but treated with a refined visual style. The challenge was to merge street-level grit with high-end fashion sensibility, while staying aligned with the brand’s voice.

My Role

I led the full creative direction and photography execution, from concept to final delivery:

  • Visual concept and shoot moodboard

  • Location scouting and styling coordination

  • On-set direction and photography

  • Post-production and color grading

  • Image curation and delivery for web, social, and print

  • Coordination with models and stylists

Creative Direction

The shoot took place across concrete overpasses, train platforms, and rooftop spaces — using natural light, geometric framing, and motion to amplify the garments’ structure and vibe. The goal was to feel spontaneous but intentional — raw yet composed.

We embraced muted urban tones, dramatic shadows, and negative space to give the collection room to breathe. A balance of still moments and dynamic poses helped communicate both attitude and wearability.

Results

  • Editorial featured on 3 niche fashion blogs within launch week

  • Increased online store traffic by 40% after editorial rollout

  • Instagram carousel post using images from the shoot reached 3x the brand’s average engagement

  • Images repurposed for online ads, homepage hero, and printed zines

  • Helped secure a limited retail pop-up with a local boutique based on updated visual positioning

  • Received direct positive feedback from customers calling the visuals “next level” and “brand-defining”

Your photography turned our lookbook into a visual narrative. You brought out the mood and emotion we were hoping for — and then some.
