Overview

Nomad Coffee Co. is a small-batch, globally inspired coffee roaster based in Lisbon, Portugal. Known for its ethical sourcing and adventurous flavor profiles, the brand needed a visual refresh that would reflect its vibrant, travel-rooted identity — while elevating its packaging and digital presence to compete in a growing specialty market.

The Challenge

Nomad’s original branding lacked consistency and didn’t fully express their story: a love of global culture, minimalist design, and artisan coffee. They approached me to redefine their brand identity, update packaging for their core product line, and create a visual system that could grow with them across retail, online, and social channels.

My Role

I led a full brand refresh and creative direction process, including:

  • Logo redesign and supporting brand marks

  • Color palette and typography system

  • Packaging design for coffee bags and seasonal blends

  • Product and lifestyle photography direction

  • Social media templates and brand visuals

  • Visual tone guidelines and usage guide

Design Approach

The new identity blends modern minimalism with subtle travel cues — including typographic nods to passport stamps and geographic grid lines. Earthy tones paired with vibrant accent colors reflect both grounded craft and global inspiration. Packaging focused on clarity, texture, and shelf presence, with a reusable label system for rotating blends.

Photography followed a natural-light, editorial style — balancing lifestyle warmth with product detail — and was designed for flexible use across website, social, and print.
