Introduction

One of the most common questions I get from new clients is:
“What does your process look like?”

And I get it — hiring a creative partner can feel overwhelming if you’re not sure what to expect. That’s why I’ve built a streamlined, flexible structure that guides every project from idea to delivery with clarity and purpose.

In this article, I’m sharing the full breakdown of how I run client projects — whether we’re building a brand, launching a website, or creating visual content. No fluff. Just real steps, built to get real results.

1. Discovery & Alignment

Every project starts with a kickoff conversation — where we dive into:

  • Your goals

  • Your audience

  • Your challenges

  • Your vision (even if it's still fuzzy)

I ask intentional questions to understand not just what you need, but why. This becomes the foundation for everything we do next.

💬 If we’re a good fit, I send over a proposal outlining scope, pricing, and timeline.

2. Research & Strategy

Once we’re aligned, I go deep into:

  • Industry research

  • Competitor analysis

  • Tone and visual positioning

  • Brand voice exploration

This phase is about building the strategic backbone of the project — so that every creative choice we make supports a larger goal.

3. Concept Development

This is where things start to get visual.

Depending on the project, this phase might include:

  • Moodboards and creative direction

  • Logo sketches or style explorations

  • Wireframes and layout ideas

  • Color palettes and typography direction

I typically present 2–3 creative directions or key concepts, along with my rationale, so you can see not just what, but why.

4. Design & Build

Once a direction is chosen, I move into focused execution:

  • Branding: logos, type systems, brand guides

  • Web: page design, UI components, responsive layouts

  • Content: social templates, packaging, imagery

This is where the project takes shape — with your feedback guiding refinement and evolution. I include 1–2 revision rounds to make sure everything feels just right.

5. Final Delivery

Once the design is approved, I:

  • Package all final assets in organized folders

  • Deliver editable and ready-to-use formats (PDF, SVG, PNG, etc.)

  • Share brand/style guides or usage documentation

  • Provide launch support or training (for digital projects)

I’ll also be available for small tweaks, tech handoff, or post-launch feedback. My goal is that you leave the project not just with files — but with full clarity and confidence.

6. Post-Project Support (Optional)

Some clients continue working with me on a monthly support plan or retainers for ongoing content, seasonal updates, or creative consulting.

Others circle back when they’re ready to grow further. Either way, I love building long-term partnerships built on trust, clarity, and shared wins.

Conclusion

A creative project shouldn’t feel chaotic or confusing. With the right structure, it can be collaborative, energizing — and surprisingly smooth.

Whether you’re rebranding, building something from scratch, or just figuring out what you need — I’ve got a process that adapts to your goals and guides you through every step.
